NO FEWER THAN 60 PREGNANT WOMEN SUPPORTED

It was a mouth watering day for about 60 pregnant women in Iseyin community, at our project centre. Oak Rural Health Organization has taken the bull by the horn to ensure that there is drastic reduction in pregnancy related maternal and child mortality. Poverty has been identified as a major contributing factor which made majority of the women to patronize unskilled birth attendants, consequently leading to sudden loss of lives. During a brief interaction with one of the beneficiaries who is a mother of two, she said she has never had any hospital delivery experience, though she lost one of her pregnancies at an undisclosed place where she used to go for her pregnancy care. This is due to the fear of hospital charges, especially the delivery commodities. But, she is happy to be provided with the delivery consumables this time. This encouraged her to come to the hospital for her antenatal care. This woman is just one of the few lucky ones who happened to be alive. Oak Rural health Organization is busy working to ensure that we bridge the gap of poverty, which is a critical factor in making women access professional antenatal services. Every donation to this project is directly preventing needless mortality in our communities. Your continuous support will enable us to reach more women and lure them to accessing a better pregnancy care and give them a safer delivery.
